Planning, training, and exercising for response and recovery to these events can dramatically increase the likelihood of improved outcomes. Presenter Dr. Carol Cwiak will review simple steps that health care facility staff can take to jumpstart their efforts to keep themselves, their patients, and others that engage with the facility safe.

    PRESENTER:

    Carol L. Cwiak, J.D., Ph.D., Associate Professor, Department of Emergency Management and Disaster Science, North Dakota State University

    Dr. Carol L. Cwiak is an associate professor in the Department of Emergency Management and Disaster Science at North Dakota State University (NDSU). She frequently works with public, private, and nonprofit sector partners at the local, national, and international levels on projects of relevance and importance to the emergency management community. She also regularly volunteers her time to work with organizational, community, and state partners to enhance preparedness and business continuity efforts. Dr. Cwiak holds a J.D. from Western State University and a Ph.D. in emergency management from NDSU.
